Hi,
Today I will show you the process, to make you complete XP (*) setup just in 5 minutes (**). What! You don't believe me, OK! Just have faith on me
and follow the steps accordingly as I say. Please don't skip any step as it is necessary.
May be you are familiar with Acronis True Image. It is more over Acronis True Image. Believe me it has the same facility to do these steps as Acronis True Image has.
But it is faster and easier and smaller than Acronis True Image. So, I suggest you to just follow the steps as i do.
To speak the truth, it is not XP setup, it is a process to make a image of your current sound (good condition) XP and all of it's settings along with all programs
and restore in case of vital system error like, virus attack, hard disk crash, system crash etc.
So, here is the process, lets do it..
Steps:
-------
1. First make a clean XP setup and set all your setting based on your demand.
2. Now setup all programs you need (MS Office, Adobe, Nero, JetAudio etc) and set it's settings according to you demands.
(Step 1 and 2 is not necessary if you are satisfied with your current XP, you are running! )
3. Now clean any unnecessary file from C drive (like temp file, junk file, temporary internet files, unnecessary documents etc)
4. Clean you registry by a third party tool. I bet you already have this kind of tool. If really not then mail me for one.
5. Scandisk your C: drive with full option. To do so..
a) Run command prompt by typing cmd in run dialog box from start menu.
b) Type chkdsk C: /f /r and press enter
c) When ask for restart then type y and restart your pc.
d) After restarting your pc will be checked (Scandisk).
6. Now defrag your C: drive by using windows disk defragmenter or any third party tool.
7. Your XP is now neat and clean for next steps.
8. Now setup Image for Windows v2.21 (Serial is in serial folder).
9. Run Image for windows form start menu.
10. Select Backup and Backup you C drive.
a) You must save backup file rather than C: drive.
b) You may set compression level and password to lock your backup file
c) If you want to write backup file to CD then you have to select split backup file to 650 mb.
c) For complete guide one backup just see the user manual.
11. Now you need to make a bootable CD.
a) You must you Nero and select bootable CD/DVD option.
b) Now select the image file (Nero Bootable Image.ima) from Image File For Bootable CD folder.
c) Add your backup file(s) to this CD/DVD. You may need multiple CD/DVD.
d) Now burn the bootable CD/DVD and any other necessary CD/DVD if needed.
12. Now here is the amazing part of all these steps.
a) When your system crash or you XP is not agree with you to run anymore or you want to XP setup.
b) Then select boot form CD from bios and boot your CD using bootable CD/DVD you made by follow step 11.
c) Select Restore from menu and do the following on screen guide.
13. When complete you will be amazed how fast it is and totally complete XP you have just in few minutes. You just think how amazing.
Note:
*=This is also valid for vista if you use NTFS File System.
**=It takes 5 minutes on my pc. It really based on your pc performance. (But not more than 20 minutes)
